When Samsung announced its upcoming operating system update, One UI 7, many of the leaked and rumored features were strikingly similar to those Apple users have enjoyed for years, such as: Dynamic island-style notifications and an Apple-esque control panel. It seems Samsung is following Apple’s example, and the company may be working on an AI-powered notification summary feature similar to Apple’s.
By now, many are quickly getting used to the Apple Intelligence feature, especially the notification summary, which has received mixed reactions even though it has been out for less than a month. As the name suggests, the feature uses on-device AI to aggregate notifications depending on your settings, so you can access key takeaways without having to open individual notifications.
Samsung’s rumoured version of the notification summary feature will work in a similar way, but instead of Apple’s intelligence, it will have Samsung’s own AI model, Galaxy AI. According to a report from Sammobile, Samsung’s AI summary feature may support multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and French. It’s different from Apple’s feature, which is currently only available in English.
The full release of One UI 7 is expected next year, with the beta delayed to December (optimistically, it could be mid-November), but there’s no way to confirm this yet. For now, we’re left with only rumors and speculation.
If Samsung implements this feature, it could set a new trend among AI-powered assistants, and Google may even introduce a similar feature to Gemini. Eventually, users will be able to rely solely on these AI-generated summaries, without the need to sift through every notification.
