PaidHR (formerly Pade HCM), a Nigerian HR tech SaaS startup with over 100 African businesses on its platform, has been at the forefront of this transformation since 2020. With a comprehensive set of capabilities including payroll, performance management, onboarding, benefits administration and more, Paid HR enables African organizations to optimize their employee lifecycle processes and unlock the full potential of their employees. With $500,000 in funding and a successful track record of processing ₦11.473 billion payrolls in 2023, the startup introduces a revamped pricing structure with no upfront fees and introduces PaidHiring, an applicant tracking system (ATS).
“We looked at the current economic situation in Nigeria, where inflation is high, and asked ourselves how we could make our product more accessible to people,” says Oluwatosin Olowo, Technology Adoption Specialist at PaidHR. According to Nancy-Olive Tamuno, Product Marketing Specialist, “The obvious answer was to lower the barrier to entry by eliminating upfront onboarding fees, allowing businesses to use our platform without committing funds right away.”PaidHR sees a significant improvement over its previous manual process. Previously, the team had to manually verify each new customer before moving forward. But with the new system, new customers can now sign up, onboard, and start receiving payroll all on the same day.”
With the introduction of PaidHiring, the startup is also strengthening its position as a complete workforce management solution.
“We are launching PaidHiring because we believe a streamlined hiring process is essential to building fulfilling careers and a stronger African workforce,” said Ole Badmus, Head of Product Marketing and Communications at PaidHR. “By connecting employers with the best talent, we empower individuals to realize their full potential and contribute to the continent’s economic growth.”
The new product expands PaidHR’s range of capabilities and follows the launch of “Earned Wage Access.” The company was founded in October 2023 to help workers receive their pay before payday to cushion the impact of persistent inflation on the African continent, particularly in Nigeria.
“Our goal is to create a world where companies can hire right, first time, and fast. It also gives applicants peace of mind that the companies they apply to have a seamless hiring process,” said Badmus.
“PaidHiring is just one of many innovative products we’re launching this year – it’s an important step towards our goal of simplifying the lives of workers in Africa.”
