MTN Nigeria has officially launched its first 5G Experience Centre in Abuja, marking a major step in advancing Nigeria’s connectivity. This innovative hub showcases the full potential of 5G technology, offering businesses, customers, and innovators the opportunity to explore its benefits.
At the launch event, MTN reinforced its commitment to delivering world-class telecom services. The centre features cutting-edge tools such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and ultra-high-definition streaming, giving visitors a hands-on experience of what 5G can offer. A digital customer service point also helps users better understand how 5G can transform their lives.
Ugonwa Nwoye, MTN’s Chief Customer Relations Officer, emphasized that the MTN 5G Experience Centre represents more than just a technological advancement. “Our focus isn’t just on selling data, but on empowering our customers with resources that unlock their potential,” she said. Nwoye further explained how MTN’s 5G network will revolutionize sectors like healthcare, education, and agriculture, helping to inspire creativity and digital innovation across the nation.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), represented by Engineer Joseph Emeshili, praised MTN’s efforts to promote emerging technologies. “MTN’s 5G rollout offers immense opportunities for Nigerians, and we need all stakeholders to support its success,” he said.
MTN’s Chief Information Officer, Shoyinka Shodunke, expressed excitement about the launch. “The 5G Experience Centre is more than just a showcase; it’s a space for innovation. We co-create with our customers to turn their ideas into tangible experiences,” he said.
MTN plans to expand its 5G network and open more experience centres in key Nigerian cities, enhancing digital literacy and promoting innovation. The MTN 5G Centre in Abuja is now open to the public, and visitors can book personalized tours to experience this groundbreaking technology.
