Google Drive has introduced a new video player feature that allows users to fast-forward and rewind videos stored in the cloud. This enhancement aligns with Google’s Material Design 3 system, focusing on improving user experience for seamless media navigation.
The latest feature enables users to skip forward or go back by 15-second intervals with dedicated buttons placed next to the play/pause option. Users can also adjust playback speed and captions without needing to access the full settings menu. This update reflects Google’s aim to simplify media management, especially with the upcoming Google Vids editor, powered by its Gemini large language model (LLM).

For Scheduled Release domains, the rollout will begin on November 18, with full visibility expected within three days. The feature will be available to all Google Workspace customers, including Workspace Individual Subscribers and personal Google accounts.
Other Workspace Enhancements
In addition to the new video player, Google has updated its Calendar app with a modern interface. Users can now choose between light mode, dark mode, or the device’s default theme, further enhancing usability and consistency across Google Workspace applications.
