Arcane season 2 is currently the most popular series on Netflix, watched in over 60 countries around the world, as well as the UK and US. According to data compiled by FlixPatrol (official figures are due to be released by Netflix later this week), Arcane is leading by a large margin, currently number 1 on the streaming platform in 65 countries.
This is great news for the League of Legends spinoff, as both seasons of Arcane cost a combined total of approximately $250 million to produce and sell, making it the most expensive anime series of all time. The first nine episodes of the show reportedly cost “over $80 million” to produce, while the production costs for the show’s second and final nine-episode series are reportedly approaching $100 million.
It remains to be seen what the rest of the series will hold, with only three of the nine episodes currently available. Episodes four, five and six will premiere on November 16th, with the final three on the 23rd, bringing an end to the popular series.
In Eurogamer’s review of Arcane season 2, which received four out of five stars, Chris T. said: “Apart from a few iffy moments in terms of pacing, Arcane’s second and final season is a real hit. It’s powerful, emotional and shocking climax.”
