Just five days after Meta started testing Custom Feeds on Threads, the company has already rolled it out to everyone. Custom Feeds allow you to follow topics and accounts in one feed, making it easier to focus on the specific things that matter to you.
To create a Custom Feed, search for a topic, click on the three-dot menu next to the search bar, and click on the Create New Feed option. Custom Feeds can also contain information about multiple topics. Simply add a new topic through search or from the three-dot menu next to your feed on your desktop. You can also add individual accounts to your Custom Feed, giving you great flexibility in configuring your feed content.
The rapid rollout of this feature is the result of increasing pressure from Bluesky, which has recently seen a surge in popularity (and custom feeds). Yesterday, the platform surpassed 20 million users, and Bluesky CEO Jay Graeber said the platform has been adding more than 1 million users per day “over the last few days.” As of November 13, the platform’s user count reached 15 million.
But Threads is still much bigger than Bluesky, as Instagram head Adam Mosseri recently pointed out. Mosseri announced last week that Threads already had more than 15 million signups in November alone, and reiterated that daily signups are exceeding 1 million.
