Spotify announced that it has started rolling out a new “Recents” page that tracks everything you’ve listened to. This section of the app stores your content for up to 90 days and is integrated with music, podcasts, and even audiobooks. The site also tracks your saved content.
The platform says this should help you “resume a paused podcast, find a catchy song from last week, or play your last saved album or audiobook.” The page replaces the Listening History tab and works for both free and premium subscribers.
Just tap on your profile picture, open the sidebar and click “Last Listened to.” Everything is listed in chronological order, but there are some filters you can use to narrow your search. Spotify also said that users can find this page by scrolling through their home feed. The tool was released for iOS and Android today, but it may take a while to reach all users worldwide.
The music and Joe Rogan streaming app has been busy lately. The audiobook tools have been improved, which is great, and now there’s an in-app cover art maker for playlists. CEO Daniel Ek recently boasted that 2024 will likely be the platform’s first completely profitable year.
The company’s latest quarterly results showed a 19% increase in revenue year over year and a 238% increase in free cash flow, totaling more than $4 billion. It also claims 602 million monthly active users, and its stock price is currently trading at about $470 per share. However, musicians still receive $0.003 to $0.005 per stream.
