The iPhone will finally be able to show you how long it will take to fully charge. Code spotted by 9to5Mac in the second beta of iOS 18.2 shows a new “BatteryIntelligence” feature that will send you notifications of estimated charging time for your iPhone.
Some Android phones already show you how long it will take to charge. This feature is becoming more and more useful as different chargers, cables, and charging protocols become available. However, the iPhone’s “BatteryIntelligence” feature appears to still be in development, and according to 9to5Mac, we may have to wait a while for the official release.
The new iPhone already has some useful battery status indicators. Last year, Apple added a new optimized charging setting to iPhone 15 and later that can charge your battery up to 80 percent to help extend battery life, and there’s also a new way to view your iPhone’s battery cycle count. The addition of the feature to determine charging time will definitely be a useful one for iPhone users.
