The new Updates section in Google Photos makes it easier to keep track of activity in your shared albums. According to a Google support post, the new section will let you see notifications like updates to your shared albums and updates to your Google Photos conversations.
You can access the Updates section by tapping the bell icon instead of the Share button (which looks like two people). The Google Photos team said in the post that the updates are displayed chronologically, letting you see activity from “today, yesterday, this week, this month, last month, and beyond.” “We want to streamline the viewing of your recent activity with an interface that makes your albums, groups, and conversations more accessible.”
Google said you can access your shared albums from the newly launched Collections section. A new update page has been rolled out to the Google Photos app for Android and iOS. If it’s not available, the Photos team recommends checking back “in the coming weeks.”
