Google has announced a new collection of updated templates for Google Slides, which the company says are “expertly designed” to “cover a wide range of use cases.” There are new templates for sales pitches, product roadmaps, lesson plans, book reports, workshop proceedings, and even a “team game template” for businesses that want to increase collaboration among employees.
The new templates could ease users’ transition from Microsoft’s Office suite and Powerpoint. This is similar to recent updates that brought simple table formatting to Google Sheets and tabs making it easier to organize information in a single Google Doc.
The updated template library rolled out to all users this week, covering both personal Gmail accounts and various levels of paid Workspace customers. The full deployment is expected to be completed by the end of November. However, the new templates are only available to users whose language is set to English (United States). Those who use “English (United Kingdom)” or “English (Australia)” will not have access.
The new templates will be available to some users this week, with the full rollout expected by the end of
If the updated templates are available in your account, you can access them by opening Google Slides and using the top toolbar or Insert > Template from the drop-down menu. Once you’ve chosen the template you want to use, you can insert just one slide to build a presentation from different templates, or insert all the templates to give your presentation a consistent visual theme.
